~ ASD NEWS ~
Dear Fellow Virtual Pilots,
This will be the last news update from the ASD....August, 2010. It seems that after 12 years, CFS1, a game which had a great run, has run it's course, and is no more. It was inevitable, but still the pangs of a love lost persist. Many of the Pilots who peruse the pages of this site still remember the hayday of CFS1, and flying on the "Zone". In spite of the pilots who "Goosed Up" their planes and flew mods, those were great days, and they will be missed. Perhaps a new game will replace CFS1 someday. Wings of Prey?...Perhaps Storm of War if it's ever released. Be that as it may, We will always have a place in out heart for CFS1.
This site was always offered as a courtesy to CFS1 Pilots, A way to say thank you for the countless hours of fun in flight and combat. However, no matter how helpful this site might be, I could never thank the CFS1 community enough. You see, it was the experience I gained from repainting aircraft, and building this and other CFS1 related websites, and from learning the "Ways of the net" that got me started in a business that has proved quite lucrative. When I first went online to fly, I was so green that I thought LMAO was a city in Viet Nam. :-) For this experience I am more than grateful, as not only do I benifit, but my family benifits as well.
So as I say goodbye to CFS, I will remember the heroes and villains of the virtual world. Crazy children like Michael Morse, and Rick Mossberger. I will also remember all good guys too. Guys like Humblesprout who always stood for what was right. Flyers like GPS_Basketboll who was such a talented Bomber Pilot, and all around good guy. I'll remember Pilots like Gooney who was always commited to CFS. I'll remember Joint-Ops, and pilots like Pine. I'll remember squadrons like the GPS, the 45th Peacemakers, the JG-57, and the squadron I founded, the last great squadron of CFS, the Allied Air Corp. Again, gentlemen, it's been a great ride, and I wish you all the best. ~S~
